Apple Fest 2006

Members of the public are invited to attend a free festival to celebrate Apple Day at the East Riding's newest Local Nature Reserve. Apple Fest will appeal to all ages and will be held on Sunday 29th October 2006 at the Millennium Orchard, Beverley Parks from 11 am to 3 pm.

Amongst the activities planned for the Apple Fest are Falconry displays, environmental art, face painting, charcoal burning, hedgelaying and marquees packed with countryside activities and information. The Women's Institutes will be providing a multitude of apple related sweets and savouries to taste, whilst the Northern Fruit Group will be on hand to identify apple varieties - please bring 3 typical examples.

"The apple Fest at Beverley Parks is a wonderful opportunity to find out about preserving apples, traditional landscapes and crafts. With a wide range of activities for all the family set in one of East Riding's most fascinating nature reserves, this really will be a great way to spend a Sunday. And it's free too!".

To attend the Apple Fest, simply turn up to the Millennium Orchard between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Free car parking is available and a new hard standing footpath will lead you to the activities.
