Access to the orchard

Access to the Millennium Orchard is from the small car park adjacent to Old Hall Farm. A firm, smooth, flat footpath allows people to walk side by side and leads into the orchard. Once entering the orchard, a circular route of approximately 470 metres invites you to explore the orchard. Picnic tables and benches are provided to aid visitor enjoyment of the site.

Access is encouraged but be aware that cattle may be grazing. Please follow all signage and do not climb over locked gates or fences.

Parkland and woodland.

The parkland and woodland area is situated to the south of the orchard with entry gained via a small area of hard standing next to the farm track. A public right of way and links Beverley Parks with Cottingham and runs adjacent to the parkland and into the mixed woodland. A permissive path runs around the perimeter of the parkland. Two short circular walks are available; a walk around the perimeter of the parkland is approximately 1km. A secluded path leads through a kissing gate and into the woodland where it meets with the public right of way. At this point, you can leave the reserve or follow the right of way back to the entrance and completing the circulate route of approximately 1.5km. Access to the centre of the parkland is via 2 kissing gates, 1 at the entrance and one in the opposite corner. Please note that cattle may be present in this field; please ensure that all signage is adhered to and that all gates remain closed.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome on the reserve. Please make sure your dog is kept under close control at all times, and does not cause a disturbance to the wildlife, livestock or to other visitors on the reserve.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Dog Wardens regularly patrol the reserve and prosecute anyone failing to clear up after their dogs. Please enjoy your walk and allow everyone to relax in a clean environment. Always follow the countryside code:

  • - Leave gates and property as you find them
  • - Protect plants and animals, and take your litter home
  • - Keep dogs under close control
  • - Consider other people

Walkers
